When we began potty training, we promised Josh a big reward if he would learn to use the potty. Well, today was payday for Josh. We took him to the circus. He's reminded us daily - "we go to the thiructh!"

We showed up early and I'm glad we did. They had an animal open house. We could walk around and see the animals. They had zebras, tigers, ponies and elephants. Josh thought we were at the zoo. Then, we went inside and met some of the performers- clowns, acrobats, etc. They had a few mini-circus acts. The elephants came out and painted pictures. It was nice to see it all up close.

With over-priced popcorn in hand, it was on to the main event. In the opening act, an elephant was wheeled out on a "stage". With the wave of a hand and some magic words, the elephant disappeared. "Where did the elephant go?" was all we heard about for the first half of the show. Josh was deeply concerned about the missing elephant. Luckily the elephant made another apperance the second half of the show.

Josh had lots of fun! We will definitely have to do it again next year. Oh, don't worry - Josh convinced us to buy him a $12 snow cone. At least it has a souvenier elephant cup! And doesn't he look so grateful!
