Congratulations Cindi & Jeff...

Cindi (my sister) and Jeff were married on June 11. Dispite the rain, it turned out to be a beautiful day! Cindi was a beautiful bride, with a huge smile all day. I am so excited for her!
Cindi and Jeff cutting the cake...

Josh has been practicing his photography. (Actually, I'm letting him "play" with my camera. Hoping he'll break it so I can get a new one) Most of his pictures are up close, taken from 3 feet off of the ground. At least Cindi made it in, usually it's his fingers, the floor or abstract objects...
Me and the bride...

For the past few weeks, we have been talking to Josh about the temple. We kept telling him that Cindi and Jeff were getting married in the temple. He was excited to finally go to the temple. I think he was even more excited when he learned there was a waterfall there. Blessings and water, it couldn't get any better!

Josh was having fun during their luncheon...
For those who may question it, we took a picture to prove that Ryan does own a tie!

Teach a kid to fish...

With no luck our first go round of fishing, Ryan, Grandpa and Josh thought they should try again. This time, they made sure Josh would come out a winner as a fisherman. They went up to the trout farm in Ogden. Not sure what Josh liked better, trying to catch the fish or feeding the fish. Josh brought home 8 or 9 trout for dinner. They were good! (Thanks Grandpa for buying the fish!)

E-I-E-I-O...

We ventured over to Historic Wheeler Farm with Becki, Kaitlyn, Baby Allie and Cindi (Grandpa pulled his back and missed all the fun). Josh and Kaitlyn were so excited. They anxiously ran from pen to pen, checking out all of the animals. We fed the goats and ducks. We took a tractor ride (not too exciting, but relaxing).
The highlight of the farm was the treehouse. Josh loved climbing the tree. We also had a mini-photo shoot of all of the kids.

We knew that it was time to go when Josh took a tumble in the gravel. We had a small scrape on the knee accompanied with a large melt down. It was very tramatic! So we all piled into the truck and went to McD's for ice cream cones. This was Josh's first official ice cream cone. He loved it! It's not just a tasty treat, it's also a beard maker...

Although it was a fun day of animals and ice cream, it wouldn't be complete with at least a few battle wounds. As mentioned earlier, Josh scraped up his knee (which he's still talks about two weeks later). He also took a face plant into Cindi's entertainment center. Blood was every where. I thought I was going to pass out. Luckily, no stiches were needed. It's also in a spot that Josh can't see, so he doesn't remind me about it daily.

He was very proud of his "Owies" later, so he made me take some pics of them. (The spot on his lips is chocolate milk.) Don't worry, the blood came out of his shirt :)

Is it summer yet?

Winter is over YEAH!!!! I'm tired of being couped up in the house. I'm ready to go out and play. Josh isn't just ready, he's ecstatic about summer (Michelle ~ did I spell it right? I'm still not sure). We've started our summer play a little early.

Fishing...

While we were shopping, we came across a Lightning McQueen Fishing Pole. Because both Ryan and I are suckers, we quickly gave into Josh and bought it. After weeks of "prcticing" in the living room, we finally ventured out to a real fishing pond. Josh sat there so patiently waiting for the fish to bite. Sadly, the fish weren't hungry that day. We need to have grandpa take him up to the trout farm!

Playing at the park...

We are lucky enough to live close to a park. We try to go to the park a couple times a week. Josh loves to dig in the sand and play on the playground. Unfortunatly, our park doesn't have any swings, which is Josh's favorite. So, we have to visit other parks every now and then. This day, we met up with Aunt Cindi, Britney (Cindi's friend) and her kids. Cindi was daring enough to ride her bike from SLC to meet us (Crazy woman!!!). We went to the Castle park. Josh loved the swings, so did Cindi!

Feeding the ducks...

We've been saving our stale bread in the freezer so we could feed the ducks. I'm not sure what he liked more, feeding them or chasing them.

Park - again!

I told you, we love to go to the park. We met Becki, Kaitlyn and Allie at our park for a picnic lunch and playtime. Josh never made it to the picnic. He was too busy playing. Most of the playing was in the sand. I think we took most of it home in his hair (YUCK!).

Josh is afraid of heights, especially if he can see that he is high up. Our park has the mesh stairs and flooring on the upper level. About half way up the stairs, he starts to be overly cautious. He clings to the railing and he takes a long time to go up another stair. Sad, yet pathetic at the same time (I know, I'm a mean mom). When (or should I say if) he finally makes it to the top, he immediately gets on his hands and knees and slowly crawls to the slide, clawing the floor the entire time. But when he goes down the slide, he knows it was a huge accomplishment. He is so excited and he enjoys every second of it. He is too cute!!!

Park in our Backyard...

This year for Mother's Day I got a swingset! Sadly though, it wasn't for me. I told Ryan that all I wanted a swingset for Josh. I figured that not only would it give him hours of entertainment in the backyard, but it would also give me some quiet time. Now I can let him go play, while I sit outside reading ( watching him of course!). Maybe I can even get some color on my legs this year.

April's come and gone...

So April's almost over and I realize that I haven't done much posting, and we've actually had stuff to post about this month . So, in no particualr order...

This year we took Josh up to Baby Animal Days in Wellsville. Once a year, they show all the new baby animals. Saying he was excited would be an understament. It was all he talked about the few days previous to going. "We go to barnyard now?"
We weren't sure that the weather would cooperate, but we knew if we didn't go, we'd have a very dissappointed little boy. Fortunately, we made it with out a drop of rain. Ryan and I were sure that Josh would chicken out as soon as he got close to the animals, but Josh surprised us. He loved playing with the baby goats. He was so proud of himself - "look mommy I pet baby goat!" He pet baby cows, ducks, chicks, bunnys, ponies, etc. He tried to hold the bunnys, chick and ducks, but they had "sharp feet". So Josh quickly passed them to me.
The highlights of the day were the pony ride (which he did twice) and holding the baby turtles. He thought he was so cool wearing the "pony hat" - aka bike helmet. He had so much fun. It's all he talked about for days. "I go back to barnyard" - over and over!!!

After the barnyard, we went home and decorated Easter eggs. Josh had fun dipping the eggs in all of the different colors. Then he put stickers on all of the eggs. We didn't even make a mess!

The Easter Bunny made a stop at our house. He hid lots of candy-filled eggs. Josh had lots of fun hunting throughout the downstairs looking for them. He was so into it, he didn't even realize that the Easter Bunny also left a few presents - kite, ball, sidewalk chalk, new pj's, Tigger electric toothbrush (his favorite - he brushes his teeth five+ times a day!). Sadly, nothing was left for mommy & daddy, but he at least left good candy :)

Ryan made a fabulous prime rib & roasted asparagus dinner for us - YUMMY!!!! It was a good Easter!

The world is now safe because of Super Joshie!!! He has learned to put on "capes" and run around "super fast!". Usually he grabs Ryan's long sleeve t-shirts and we tie it around his neck. This morning however he improvised on his own. I guess he needed a little extra support for his super adventures - or maybe some padding for those crash landings :)

We are (or were) offically trailer owners. We decided this year we were going to buy a trailer. Both Ryan and I camped as kids, and had fun memories of it. We wanted to our children to have some of those fun memories. After lots of looking, we found a great old trailer, or so we thought. We bought it and brought it home. We started making plans for our summer camping vacations. We were excited to start cleaning it up. Then, the next day, Ryan discovered that it had been leaking and had water damage. Our dreams were suddenly halted. Ryan quickly put it back on ksl.com. Within five minutes our new trailer was gone. So we pause now for a moment of silence - Ahh! We'll miss that trailer. Don't worry, we're still in the process of looking for a non-leaking trailer. Wish us luck!

Sansa not be sick...

Where does the time go? I can't believe we're already at the end of March! We haven't been to good at posting. Not much to report as far as activities.

We were lucky to enjoy a few warm days in March - shorts and flip flops! Josh had fun playing outside with his friends. Sadly, it only lasted a few days then it was followed by snow storms. Josh and Ryan went to the zoo again last weekend, but if you've seen one zoo pic, you've pretty much seen them all. Other than that, we're pretty boring.

This month Josh has started saying his own prayers. He still needs a little help, but he can do it on his own......

(skipping the into all together)

"I want baby bruder (brother)...help Sansa (Santa) not be sick...help all not sick...thank you friends, toys, animals, food, momma, daddy, and me Josh. Jesus. Amen"

He is very adiment about getting a baby brother and Santa not getting sick (where that one came from who knows???). He will repeat it over and over until we say it. He knows what's important! He is too cute!!!
