Best of friends...

Everyday Josh points over to the Brunson's house..."Leez mama leez". So, this afternoon, Josh has some of his "BFF"s over - Adisyn and Cole (Rylie was still in school). They had lots of fun playing with cars and dinosaurs. Of course, you can't have a play date with out treats, so we munched on popcorn and drank our Watermelon-Kiwi Koolaid (Cole's pick). It was a fun time had by all.
I love that Josh wants to be with his friends. Not only does it give him time to play with people his own age, but it also give mommy a little break!

"Ree mama ree"...

It seems that Josh has picked up so many new words in the last few weeks. Most of the words are only partial. "Hep" is help. "Bo" is boat. "Bo Bo" can be either booger or boobie depending on what part of the body he's pointing to. The list of words goes on and I'm sure that there are some that we still haven't picked up on.

One of my favorites is "Ree", which in Joshese means read. He pleads with me daily, "Ree mama ree", as he hands me his chosen book. He loves books. We try to read at least three books every night before bed, sometimes Josh wins and gets four. We try to go to the library once a week so that we're not reading the same books over and over. Even with all of the new books we still read the pop up dinosaur book nightly.

One night after bath, Josh quickly ditched the towel and took off. By the time I caught up with him, he had gotten comfortable in his chair with a book. Too cute that I had to take a picture...

Treasures in the water damage...

Yesterday after coming home from church, we found a water leak in the basement. The end cap on the pressure valve had a hole in it, spraying water every where. Unfortunately, Ryan's boxes were amongst the water. I've been wanting to clean the basement out, but this isn't how I wanted it to happen. We were luckily that there wasn't much damage done, just a few boxes wet, mostly filled with clothes.

Among all of the mess, there were a few photo envelopes that we came across. I thought I'd share a few of our finds...

Stef, love the glasses...

Sorry, the water damage kind of ruined Erik's face

Happy Birthday Josh!!!

Sunday was Josh's birthday!!! I can't believe he's already two! He is growing up too fast. We had a small party to celebrate. Ryan smoked delicious pulled pork sandwhiches. However, before we could eat, Josh was ready to start opening presents. He was too anxoius for all of those new toys. The clothes and the shoes weren't a big hit with him, but as Trevor said "Clothes aren't presents!"
Josh with his Choo-Choo cake...YUM!

Michelle and Trevor sent Josh a Thomas the Train tent. He loves it!!!

After the party, Josh found a new thing to play with - Stef's feet. Apparently he must have a foot fettish. He was giving her feet lots of love and kisses.

Happy Birthday Josh! We love you!

Don't forget - if you have pics from the party, please email them to me!!!

Birthday count down is on...

We've hit a few milestones this past week. Josh has learned the power of "NO!", which is usually accompanied by hitting. So, Josh has also learned mom's power of "time-outs".

Josh has mastered bedtime. He's gone to bed on his own and slept the whole night. This is a big feat since we got rid of binki three weeks ago. I'm hoping that it will stick since he's getting a "big boy" bed with Thomas the Train for his birthday this weekend. I'm hoping that he'll stay in it. Although, I'm guessing he'll love his new night time freedom and start roaming the house at midnight.

I can't believe that Josh is going to be two on Sunday. Where has time gone? He is no longer my little baby, but was he ever really little?

Since we didn't add any new photos, I added the photo slide shows on your right. Hope you enjoy a few photos from the past two years.

I'm updating my photo books. If you have any photos of Josh, please email them to me. Thanks!

Too tired for Thomas...

Josh has become obsessed with Thomas the train. Everything is "choo-choo". One afternoon, he begged Ryan to watch the "choo-choo" show. After a few minutes he was out, sprawled across his spiderman chair. Too cute!
