Caught in the act...

On Thurdsay, I was cleaning the carpet yet again. This time the carpet had a run in with a green crayon. I wonder how it got there? Anyways, while I was cleaning, Josh was in his bedroom playing. I could hear him talking and laughing, having a good time. All of a sudden it got really quiet. I thought I'd better check out the situation. Josh was painting himself with Desitin. It was too cute. I immediately grabbed the camera. I'm glad that he doesn't know how to squeeze a tube yet, or it could have been much worse. And for fun, I threw in a picture of Josh in his new "Choo-choo" jammies.

Adventures in cleaning...

We were cleaning fools this week. Josh and I cleaned every room floor to ceiling. Josh loves to help sweep the floors, dust the furniture, empty the dishwasher and help fold laundry. He is s big help! We have fun cleaning. We turn the radio on and sing and dance while we work. Even though I find it hard to dance to the Eency Weency Spider.
On wednesday, I finished painting all of the crown molding and window casings, which look amazing! I figured it was time to clean up and put everything away. As I was walking down the stairs into the family room, I tripped. A gallon of white paint splattered every where...carpet and walls!

I quickly wiped the walls down, because I wasn't about to repaint them. As for the carpet, I thought there wasn't any hope, but it still needed to be cleaned up. Using paper towels, I began to wipe up all of the excess paint. At the same time of spilling the paint, I also dropped all of my painting supplies.
Josh quickly picked up my paint brush. He thought we were painting the carpet, and like the big helper he is, he began to paint the carpet. Unfortunately, I had to put a stop to that before he moved onto the walls.

I needed to get the carpet as wet as possible, so I started to pour pitchers of water. Josh grabbed his little cup and poured his share. After dousing the carpet with gallons of water (approx. 30), I took an old towel and started to scrub out the paint. Again, my big helper was by my side, this time with my nice dishtowels. He too, was wiping up the mess.

As frustrating as this event was, Josh was so cute!!! I wish I could have taken a moment to take some pictures. He wanted to help in everything I did. He was even helping me steam clean the carpet. He held on and "vacuumed" for me.

Luckily, after steam cleaning a few times, the paint came out. I was very relieved! I kept telling Ryan that it was time we clean our carpets. Maybe this was fate's way of helping get it done!

It's Thomas the Train...

This last week, Josh has become infatuated with "choo-choos". This morning we pulled up the Thomas the Train website. They had a Thomas mask. Josh colored, I cut and viola- Josh has transformed into Thomas. Too cute!

Dadd's little helper...

We're teaching him at an ealy age...Actually, Ryan was mowing the lawn. For a while, Josh was right behind pushing his toy lawn mower. But it wasn't enough. He wanted to help daddy with the real mower. When he was finished, Josh was soaking in sweat. It was a good workout for him.

We miss you Trev and Michelle...

While Michelle and Trevor were visiting, we all took a trip to the zoo. We watched an animal show (Michelle and I agree, kinda lame), and the kids got to touch a king snake and an opossum. Lots of animals to see. We rode the carousel and the train - Josh's favorite. We were glad to spend time with Michelle and Trev before they headed back to San Fransisco.

Trev and Josh seeing if they measure up...

All aboard...

Riding the carousel. Look, I'm finally in a picture...
